Add the ricotta, roughly torn basil, salt, lemon juice, and lemon zest to a food processor.
Blend until smooth and creamy to your liking.
Note: One minute is recommended but you could go two minutes of blending to make an even airier dip. Check periodically to see when it transforms into your desired consistency.
Alternative: You can whip the ricotta using a hand mixer or whisk until it’s light, smooth, and creamy.
